UPDATE: THE MALE HAS BEEN SOLD! He is in his new home. I wish them much happiness. :)
I still have the two females. They are so wonderful. If you are looking for an awesome companion, or a family dog, please give me a call or email me. Email is actually the best way to get ahold of me. These girls will make excellent family dogs. All of their siblings, including the one we are keeping, have blended beautifully into the families they have gone to. These girls will definitely be a blessing to whomever gets them. They are so receptive to training, it is amazing. I feel extremely blessed to have my Mals.
PLEASE READ BELOW FOR DETAILS ABOUT THE PUPS
O.k., I have 2 females and 1 male for sale. They are full blood Alaskan Malamutes. They are unregistered, which is why the price is so low for them. I also knocked an additional $50 off, to cover their first vet visit, and shots. Money has been very tight for us, as it always is at this time of year. This was an unexpected litter. These pups are older, almost 6 months.
Please, do not let the fact that the pups are older, make you decide to pass on them. There are so many advantages to getting them when they are this age. They are socialized with other dogs, which is really important with these breeds. At this age, it is much easier to see what their personalities will be like, they have some basic training, therefore, some manners. And, they are much easier to train. If you let them run some energy off before working with them, they focus, and pick up your commands much quicker than younger pups, and they retain it better. Therefore, it will take much less time to train these guys the way you want them. Their attention span is much better.
I had thought about keeping them to train as pullers, but I have so little time right now. I really want these guys to go to good loving homes, because they are amazing. I want others to experience the awesomeness of having one of these dogs. I truly LOVE this breed. I have always wanted this breed. I have had so many different kinds of dogs over my entire life, but I didn't really understand just how truly different these dogs are from other breeds. Not until I have owned my own for almost 8 years now. They are brilliant, kind, and so amazingly sweet. Every one of them.
They all have their own little quirks, and such different personalities. But, at the same time, those things they are alike in; the intelligence, and sweetness, and all the other wonderful qualities the Malamute has to offer, they are really just extraordinary dogs.
These pups I have for sale are awesome. They are ready and willing to be trained for whatever you want them to do. And if you are patient with them, they get it so quick, it will blow your mind.
I have been a fan of Cesar Milan, since he became known as the Dog Whisperer. He is just as amazing as these dogs, in my opinion. A truly God given gift, for those of us who really want to have a wonderful relationship with their dog. If you apply his techniques to your training, to one of these pups, you WILL be amazed at how smart these guys are.
There is a reason that you see so few Malamutes, whether they are full blood, or mixed, in the shelters for adoption. When you get one of these dogs, you cannot help but fall in love with them.
I absolutely adore the Husky breeds. They are beautiful, and fast, and can be just as wonderful as the Malamute. They are, after all, both direct descendants of the wolf. But, after doing the research I did, on both of these breeds, and talking to people, or knowing people, who have, or have had, Huskies, I decided that they were too high strung for my lifestyle.
Huskies are more suited to people who live VERY active lifestyles. Of the sled dog breeds, they are definitely the runners, and if you are someone who jogs 10 miles a day, or hikes allot, and will take them with you, a Husky is the way to go, because they can, and will, usually keep up with you. If it is not too hot. That is definitely a factor with any of these dogs. If it gets hot during the day, take them out in the evening, especially if there is water there. Most of them really love to play in the water.
I have a bathtub in my back yard, mostly for my oldest female, who adores the water, and a larger kiddie pool in the front for the other dogs. They LOVE the water. The little boy that is available, loves to get in the pool, and literally roll in the water. If you are looking for a dog that loves to be active, is a wonderful family dog, is not too high strung, and will be your best friend for life, then these are the dogs for you. The Malamute is the freight dog of these breeds. They are bred to work with the villagers, when they go on hunts, and to pull extreme weight. Which actually makes them less likely to dig out to run 100 miles from home, in 24 hours, lol!
That was the biggest deciding factor in which breed I wanted to get. I did not want to be chasing my dog all over the country. I have a panic attack when any one of my dogs gets out of their yard, simply for their safety. I can't sleep, or eat, and get very anxious. We are rural, and have quite a few different predators out here. When they are all in the yard together, it is not a problem, because the packs of coyotes, and the other predators, do not come too close, because I have a large pack of my own (they keep the predators away from my livestock), so I am fine, but if they escape, just one or two of them, I freak out, lol! It is bad for me, lol. So I figured the Mal, who is more apt to stay close to home, was the breed I wanted.
I love those beautiful blue eyes of the Siberian Husky, but, when it came down to it, since I am not looking for the fast one of the breeds, but the more sedate one, the Mals were it for me. In the eight years I have had them, I have not regretted my decision. They are the loves of my life.
Like all other dogs, they will dig holes when they are bored, or simply to keep warm, in the winter, or cool in the summer. Just make an area in your yard, where they can be safely kept, or kennel train them. I recommend the kennel training, just because it can really make life easier in certain conditions, like bad weather, or extreme heat. They really learn to love their kennels, and it keeps them from destroying things, or chewing things, when you are not around to keep an eye on them, or have to go to work.
They love to play with people. They love people, lol! They want to please their person, which is one of the things I love about them.
We are in the desert, and many people think they cannot have these kinds of dogs here, but if you give them a pool with relatively clean water daily, or every couple of days, (it's gonna get dirty, believe me, because they will be in it allot, lol!), shelter, and shade, or, if it is extreme weather, especially the heat, bring them in where it is cooler, they will be just fine. In the colder climates, they thrive. Not in the seriously extreme weather though. I make sure my dogs are not out in those elements, though they are snow dogs. Like any other animal, they do have their limits, so I bring mine in. Even though this is the desert, it is the high desert, so it gets extremely cold here at times, even in the milder seasons. My dogs love it, but I still bring them in when it gets really bad.
They blow their coats about twice a year. If you keep them brushed during that time, it stops pretty quickly. These dogs do not require bathing like your average domestic breeds do. They keep themselves very clean, and their coats require very little maintenance. They are actually a relatively low maintenance dog. I believe if a puppy has a good start from birth, good food, clean area, water, and a good mom, they have the biggest chance of living long, healthy lives.
My main breeding female, usually runs out of milk before it is time to wean the pups, which is something Mals can be known for, but when that time comes, I supplement the pups on high quality fresh goats milk, from my own herd, so I know exactly what is in it. They all have wonderful, healthy coats, and they are beefy and healthy.
None of my dogs has shown any indication of having bad hips, or any other health issues. I have several pups I have kept over the last few years, plus I am still in contact with quite a few people who have bought my puppies over the last several years. They are all very healthy, well adjusted, and happy. And everyone I am still in contact with, loves their dog.
One of the little females I just shipped to Boston, was absolutely amazing. By the end of spending 6 hours in the airport ticket area, everyone, agents, and passengers alike, was in love with her. She was so well behaved, with very little training, it blew even me away. She was PERFECTLY behaved. Everyone was amazed when they found out she had only had five days of training. That was going to the vet twice, going to the airport a total of three times (over a hundred mile trip for us each time), and learning to walk on a leash, with a harness and collar.
She had not ever been kenneled until the day she finally flew out, and she went in very easily, and just laid down, and didn't make a sound or freak out in any way. Again, everyone in the airport, including me, was totally blown away when we put her in there. She spent almost 24 hours, only getting walked by airport employees between the three connecting flights, in that kennel. When the woman who bought her, picked her up, she was thrilled with her. She was nervous, and walked with her tail down, but she was perfectly behaved, and had great manners, not only getting out of the airport, but the hour ride to her new home, and meeting the grand babies and children. Everyone was so happy. I loved it.
That is the biggest part of raising these dogs for me. The happiness they bring to people. I think it is so important, to have an animal companion, whether you are young or old. There are Sooo many benefits to having a dog, physically, spiritually, emotionally...they are just one of the best ways to help people not feel lonely, or sad.
I have added new pics, but I have to apologize that they are in their kennel. It is so hard when they are playing and running in the big yard, to get pics of them. I can take some if you are interested in one in particular, and send them to you.
If you have any questions, or are interested in one of the pups, please feel free to contact me. If you cannot reach me on the phone, please email me. I actually check my email, more than my phone. Thank you for your time and interest. God Bless
NOTE: Please contact me with your cell number so I can send you pics of the pups. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to upload pics from my phone to my computer, and find the files, because my computer is hiding them. For some reason they are not going to my pics files like they are supposed to be. I really am not happy that Windows forced me to download the 8.1. I am so not savvy when it comes to Windows 8 as it is. My camera battery finally died a final death after 15 years, so I am forced to use my crappy cell phone for the pics.
I have four 4 month old Alaskan Malamute puppies for sale. We are only charging half price for them, due to them not being registered. Dad is double registered, but mom is not registered, and we do not plan to register her. We have also knocked $50 off for the pups first vet visit. This time of year is lean for us, and we were not planning on having a litter. I was hoping to be able to give them their first shots myself, but have not been able to. I give them at about 3 months, but again, times are lean right now. We wanted to get them advertised before they got any older, so we decided to knock the money off for first vet and shot.
We have 3 girls, and 1 boy. Possibly only 2 girls. Please feel free to contact me if you are interested. It is birthing season in my goat pen right now, so I have not had much time to take pics, plus the battery in my camera is no longer any good, so I am trying to figure out how to get pics off my phone, uploaded to my computer, so I can get to them to post them. I am so not used to Windows 8, (or 8.1, which I was just forced to install), so if you would like some pics, I will send them to you from my phone in the meantime. Just let me know what your cell number is, and I will send pics. I am going to try and get some today, but I will post a few pics of Dad. All of moms pics are on my other computer that went down. So I need to get new ones of her also. The last pic is of a couple pups from my last litter, from the same dad, different mom.
